Meet the Coaches
Our coaching staff is the heart of the Flyers. Led by head coach Dillon Delaney, our team is full of former Flyers who came up through this program and came back to coach the next generation. They work hard to keep practices positive, safe, and fun, and to help every swimmer reach their goals.
Hi, my name is Dillon Delaney and I am a graduate from Liberty University where I have my bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies. I both attended and swam for the Liberty Flames for the past 4 years. This will be my 3rd year as the head coach and I am very excited to see what the season holds. My most important rule in summer swim is to have fun, and I try to integrate that all season long. Feel free to reach out to me from the contacts below or find me on the pool deck after practice and as always, it's a great day to be a Flyer!
Hi everyone! My name is Georgie Aponte (AKA Coach Georgie). This is my third year coaching Flyers. I swam for the Flyers for 14 years and did club swim for 10 years up until I graduated high school. I just finished my first year at the University of Virginia where I am studying neuroscience. Flyers is my absolute favorite part of the summer and I cannot wait for another amazing season! This team has been such a great experience for so much of my life, and I am committed to making that the case for all of our swimmers. This summer is going to be so much fun and I am looking forward to a VPSU Champs three-peat! I am planning on doing lessons again this year, so feel free to reach out to me if you are interested. GO FLYERS
