End of Season Meets

Awards & Championships

Two big meets close out our season. Here is what makes each one different.

There are two different end-of-season meets, and both include every team in the league, so they can feel busy and overwhelming if it is your first time. Here is a quick overview of each. For exact dates and times, check the season schedule.

Summer Awards Meet

This meet is the final opportunity for swimmers to earn qualifying times, known as "Champ Cuts," for the Championship Meet.

Here is the simple rule for whether to sign up:

  • If your swimmer is 9 & Over with 3 Champ Cuts, or 8 & Under with 2, they are already qualified. No need to sign up for Summer Awards.
  • If your swimmer still needs cuts to reach that number, please register. This is the last chance to earn them.

Already-qualified swimmers are welcome to compete if they would like to try for an additional qualifying time.

VPSU Championship Meet

The Championship Meet is the biggest meet of the season, with every team in the league competing for the VPSU title.

You can check your swimmer's earned Champ Cuts anytime in your SwimTopia account.

This meet has been a huge success for our team. Every qualified swimmer we enter gives us a better chance to score points. It is a great opportunity for the kids to show off all their hard work and be part of a true team effort.

Meet Declarations

Please declare your swimmer as soon as possible for either meet if you know they will be attending.

We are strict about meet entries. If a swimmer is not declared by the deadline, they cannot be added later. Meet entries also cost the team money, so please only sign up if your swimmer is planning to attend and compete.

Practice Schedule During Championship Week

During Championship week we will have two practice groups. No early morning practices are currently planned, though this is subject to change.

10 & Under9:00–9:45
11 & Over9:45–10:45

These practices are for swimmers who have qualified for Championships. We ask that swimmers who have not qualified take the week off, so our Championship swimmers can get the rest they need and so we can better manage practice.

If you have any questions about the meets, qualifications, or the practice schedule, please ask a coach at practice or contact us by email.
