FC Flyers Update - Goldfish Group, Registration and Suits
First of all, I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend and thank you to all who came out for time trials yesterday! It was so fun to see so many familiar and new faces. I wanted to address the Goldfish group and also related registration for those wanting to participate in that group.
1. Per Dillons email (I have added to the end of this email for those who did not receive the email because you have not registered for this season yet), we are offering a Goldfish group. This is for swimmers who might be a little rusty after not being in the water for a whole year and those who might need a little more time to build up to swimming the length of the pool. This group is NOT minnows where kids are taught the basics of how to swim. If you do have questions about if this group is right for your child please reach out to Dillon.
2. If you would like to add a child for the Goldfish group and have already registered other children in your family please send me your child's full name and DOB. I will then manually add them to your family. As for payment you will need to pay via check $105 a swimmer (accounting for the multi swimmer discount).
3, If no children have been registered or if you are new there should be no issue and please use the registration tab.
4. Suits - if you can't add a suit to your cart on the TYR site it means it it is out of stock. As of this morning I am tracking girls 28 and boys 24 are out of stock, Please email our TYR rep to get put on a waitlist and to get your order sorted. His email is: [email protected]
I am looking forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday (if not before) at the Parent Meeting @5pm. Wishing everyone a lovely weekend as we honor those who have paid the ultimate price for our country and spend time with family and friends.
Best,
Lisa Evans, President
Dillons email:
Hello All, First, thank you to all who came out for time trials! The coaches and I are very excited for all our swimmers! I am reaching out to everyone to clear up something related to those swimmers who can’t currently swim the length of the pool. I know on the website it claims your child must know how to swim and make it the full length of the pool.
Although we would prefer that your child knows how to swim, they do not need to be able to swim the entire length of the pool, right now. We understand this is a big ask for younger swimmers who have not been in the water since last summer. That said, as you know, the minnows program is not offered this year due to a lack of staffing and ability to run a learn to swim program of this nature. However, our coaches want to support our swimmers and encourage them; not turn them away the first day of practice.
To support those who can’t currently swim the length of the pool we will have a Goldfish group, who will join the 8 & Unders and start in the shallow end. As they gain confidence and ability, they will progress to the deep end with the end goal of moving to the lanes. The plan is to move everyone to the lanes halfway through the summer which is about 5 weeks. If they are not able to progress to lanes at the halfway point, we will strongly recommend private lessons with either a coach or outside group. If they can show that they can swim a full length of the pool during the second half of the season we will incorporate them into the lanes.
Hopefully this clears up some of the confusion. I will be able to answer any questions about this or any other questions you have on Tuesday at the parent meeting. If there are any urgent questions, please feel free to email me at [email protected] and I will respond to you as soon as I can.
Sincerely,
Dillon Delaney
