The Flyers run on volunteers and that was very apparent this weekend as we prepare for our first home meet of the 2024 season. I wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to people who went above and beyond to make sure we are ready to FLY Monday!

• Resurfacing starting blocks: Mark Thornblom, Brian Vereb and CJ Scleicher – working in intense heat this weekend to make sure our kiddos are safe for the meet.
• Updated stencils for the blocks: Laura Wang – our blocks look amazing thanks to you!
• Heat and Event Board: Alicia Aschiero – stepped up after one ask on FaceBook! Amazing!
• Sound system: Neil Lafountain – taking time to show, Stephanie, Chris and I the ropes for the sound system
• Grounds mowing and extra trash pickup: Amy Day with an assist from Jesse Pound – didn’t even have to ask she already had it all sorted
• Food trucks: Jesse McHose and Taryn Dawn – keeping us fed and happy
• Under 8 blocks: Jose Aponte and Dillon Delaney – getting this taken care of together!

All of our volunteers spots are filled except for two for Monday (tomorrow)! We need an early and late shift for updating our new heat and even board. Please sign up!

And last, but not least, Stephanie Harboe. There is nothing she can’t do or figure out. She is the reason this season is going so smoothly. Her energy and commitment to the Flyers is second to none.
